Hiking and Mountain Biking.

The paths of nature
lead to its wonders.

To get rid of the anxiety and stress of everyday life there is nothing better than an outdoor walk. The area of Sarnano extends between the natural wonders of the Sibillini Mountains and lush countryside, where the balance between man and the environment is still respected and preserved. You do not need to be a hiking lover to enjoy the beauties this place has to offer. In fact, even a simple walk can lead you to discover small breathtaking landscapes, hidden in the meanders of silent nature and in perfect harmony with its inhabitants.

Thanks to the work of the Associazione Sarnano in Bici (Sarnano Biking Association), in collaboration with the municipal administration, today there are no less than 10 marked itineraries that are easily accessible by foot, by bike or on horseback, classified according to the length of the route and the difference in height.

Mountain biking on the Sibillini Mountains:
cycling through forests and meadows.

The mountains around Sarnano are ideal for mountain biking and enduro. The many paths through woods, meadows and ridges are perfect both for those who simply love to cycle in a green landscape, breathing in the scent of the mountain, and for those who practice all-mountain and are in search of the thrill of the slopes. In addition to the 10 routes mentioned above, nearby Sarnano there arethree specific enduro routesof different difficulty and length, counting a total of 30 km of marked itineraries.

The Sibillini Park Enduro Association also offers a bike shuttle service for those who want to practice enduro and all mountain, and for those who simply want to ride in the mountains to reach the paths by shuttle (reservation required).

With the Associazione Sarnano in Bici, however, it is also possible to book mountain bike trips for children and adults, along with specialised guides, in possession of the National Mountain Bike Academy certificate and with their expert knowledge of the area.

Moreover, if cycling is not your forte, but you want to discover this area on two wheels do not give this desire up: enjoy a tour with e-bikes (electric bikes) instead. Just book a few days in advance.

Hiking in the Sibillini.
An experience within everyone’s reach.

Sarnano is located right at the foot of the Sibillini Mountains, which is the ideal starting point for those who love hiking.
For example, the hermitage of Soffiano falls within the municipal territory, and is reachable by a short hike also suitable for children.
Starting from the ski district of Santa Maria Maddalena, you can get to the top of Mount Pizzo Meta, from which you can enjoy an incredible view that stretches from the mountains to the sea.
Travelling a few kilometres by car, you can reach the hiking trails to the most famous sites of the Sibillini: the Lame Rosse and the Grotta dei Frati in the direction of Fiastra and Mount Sibilla, and Lake Pilato and Monte Vettore in the direction of Montemonaco (the paths leading to the Fiastrone Gorges in the Cessapalombo area and the Gorges of Hell near Montefortino are temporarily unfeasible).
In short, prepare your hiking boots and stick because the Sibillini are full of enchanted places to discover step by step. On the website of the local section of the Cai (Centro Alpino Italiano, i.e. Italian Alpine Centre) you will find the list of itineraries and the calendar of organised hikes.
